From the youngest probie, to the most senior firefighter or officer, smoke reading is a must in this day and age. Building materials are different, fires are differnet, and WE must adapt to the ever changing environment.

    This is a very good presentation, especially the last few words ” I’m fortunate to still be vertical after 25 yrs. The fires that I fought were predictable in stable buildings. The fires you fight are explosive fires in disposable buildings”. This is so very true in todays world, we must have complete Situational Awareness when we respond to a call for a structure fire. This is why I keep saying that we need to keep training on the basics, and when we complete the list of basic skills, its time to start again where we began. Thanks Adam for putting these videos out for everyone.
